Getting started
From account creation to a logged run.
1. Create an account
Open https://launchhelm.com and choose Create account. Registration uses an email address and password, then a one-time code sent to that address. Enter the code on the verification page to activate the account. After sign-in, create an organization, or accept an invitation if a teammate already invited you.
2. Create an API key
Open Settings → API keys and choose Create API key. Give it a name, keep Training runs and All projects, and create it. The key is shown once with the lines to export. Copy them before you leave:
export LAUNCHHELM_URL=https://launchhelm.com
export LAUNCHHELM_API_KEY=lh_... # shown once; never commit it
export LAUNCHHELM_ORGANIZATION=... # organization UUID
A key limited to one project also exports LAUNCHHELM_PROJECT, that project's UUID.
3. Install the SDK
Python 3.11+ on macOS, Linux, or Windows:
pip install launchhelm
TypeScript, Rust and C++ SDKs are coming soon.
4. Log a first run
import launchhelm
with launchhelm.init("quickstart", name="first-run", config={"lr": 0.0003}) as run:
for step in range(8):
loss = 2.0 / (step + 1)
run.log({"loss": loss, "lr": 0.0003}, step=step)
print("run finished:", run.run_id)python-log_run.py · verbatim from sdks/python/examples/log_run.py
init takes the project name. With a key for all projects, the project is created the first time you log to it. With a key limited to one project, use that project's name. Open the project in LaunchHelm — the run appears with its loss stream, and the with block finishes the run on exit.
5. Invite your team
Open Settings → Members and choose Invite people.
- Invite by email. Enter an address and choose Member or Observer. They get an email and accept in LaunchHelm after signing in with that address. Invitations expire after 7 days.
- Share an invite link. Choose a role and an expiry, then Create link. Limit who can use it sets a maximum number of joins and the email domains allowed to join. Anyone with the link and a verified account that matches those settings can join. The link is shown once, so copy it before you leave the page. Revoke it any time; people who already joined stay members.
Each link lists who joined through it.
